Update

Renee is improving in many ways PTL! She is mostly off dialysis and off the vent and is able to speak now when on the talking vent. She might not have to go back on the full vent at night as she is doing so well with breathing. The ribs where they did a thoracotomy will be tired for 6- 8 weeks. Sore for 6 and achy for 3 months. It was a big deal. You may want to look that one up - it is considered one of the most painful surgeries. Physio is coming along and she is standing up some and sitting up more. She is hoping to see Keira tomorrow when she comes to the hospital for a follow up appointment.

Renee and team is working toward many things and progressing very well compared to a week and a half ago. She has come a very long way and the various groups are impressed with how well she is doing and how strong she is getting considering how long she has been in bed. One of the challenges is getting her feeding system working properly and she has been nauseated a lot. They are also trying to wean her off of meds which means she is experiencing more pain.
On another note on January 23rd is a year ago since her brother passed away so this makes it an extra sad and emotional time for her as she has a lot of time to think. Please pray for her about that as well. So thankful for all the miracles God has done and is doing. Thanks for your prayer.
